The back-end team of Label A is experienced, diverse and driven. During daytime we work with proven techniques and after sunset we love to play around with bleeding-edge technologies during our #hacknights. We’re always looking for a challenge and definitely not afraid to solve complex problems!
At the moment we have 17 back-end developers divided over our two offices in Rotterdam and Amsterdam. We all have different expertises and personalities which makes us a solid team. They say opposites attract, and that definitely applies to us!
Our big range of clients means a large variety of techniques. This gives us the opportunity to keep adding value to our projects, and just as important, to ourselves. One day you could be using Postgres in combination with Elasticsearch for full text search, the other day applying Machine Learning, Rabbit Message Queue and Microservices. That’s how we like it.
Besides using current techniques, we are always on the lookout for new, innovative ones. This way we keep adding value to our projects and stay ahead of our competitors and these of our clients.
We don’t like legacy systems. That’s why we love to build applications from the ground up. However, some third parties may be working with something less ‘up-to-date’, which can be quite a challenge to tackle. The moment we’re connecting an 18-year old cash register system never meant to meet the internet you might think ‘this can’t be done’? But oh yes, we will make it work!
FACTS & FIGURES
HUUB makes sharing electric cars, scooters and bikes with your neighbours or colleagues a piece of cake. It therefore offers a solution which needs less parking space and increases the quality of living in dense cities.
The back-end has been created in Python, but even more interesting is the fact that we are the connecting five different parties in the process: Greenwheels for cars, Gazelle for bikes, and others for public transport, escooters, payments & invoice management and user management.
Some time ago, I was standing at the fruit basket with my colleague Casper, when we noticed a rather odd looking fruit. We asked each other the question: “What the * is that?!”.
At Label A you can expect flexibility, challenges and having a say in everything we do. If we think we need to do it differently, we change it ourselves without a hassle. Having this culture allows for continuous innovation. We always use the latest software (provided that it’s stable) and are always exploring new techniques. Security issues, Blockchain, Machine learning, we are on it! Sometimes clients are having a hard time to keep up with us, but we love to help them out.
Our motto is: ‘never leave a person behind’. We help each other when somebody is struggling, we don’t go home leaving others behind to finish the work alone. We also make sure everybody is happy! Besides working hard we love going to Meetups and congresses as CodeMotion and O’Reilly to keep developing ourselves. And hackathons? We just organize these ourselves.
We are eager in everything we do, with room for failure we learn and grow fast.
We aim to be the best in what we do, therefore we innovate and put ourselves in the client’s shoes. Make it happen!
We’re passionate about our craftsmanship and what we create. We care about our work and in return it adds value to our clients and Label A. We make impact!
